PRIOR LEARNING ASSESSMENT PROGRAM

Are you a student graduating from a school not accredited by the FQM?

Thanks to our Prior Learning Assessment Program, we are pleased to welcome graduates and experienced massage therapists. You must have completed basic training (400 hours minimum) in a school not accredited by the FQM. In fact, you can benefit from a respectful, rigorous and rewarding process that allows for the recognition of your experience. Moreover, the FQM’s mission is to qualify and support all massage therapists in their practice.

You can therefore become an active member of the FQM within a reasonable period of time and immediately use the designation massothérapeute agréé. This is a guarantee of quality, particularly with the public and insurance companies.

The procedure is relatively simple and quick. First, check that you meet the admission requirements:

  • be 18 years of age or older;
  • have completed Secondary V (or the equivalent);
  • have at least 400 hours of basic massage therapy training from a non-accredited school;
  • and if you are from outside of Canada, have a work permit or a document proving that you can work legally.

If you meet these criteria, contact our member services directly at 1-800-363-9609 ext. 228 or by email at support@fqm.qc.ca. We will explain in detail the steps to follow and the documents required for the analysis of your file.

Please note that no results will be communicated to you by telephone. You will receive an email notification once the analysis of your file is completed.

*The designation “massothérapeute agréé” is a registered trademark belonging to the Fédération québécoise des massothérapeutes and is reserved exclusively for its members.
