As part of this important collective initiative, the Fédération québécoise des massothérapeutes agréés submitted a memorandum (3 pages) to highlight the essential role that massage therapy could play in a global prevention strategy.

This brief presents concrete recommendations for integrating massage therapy into preventive health care initiatives, focusing in particular on its recognized effects on musculoskeletal disorders, pain, stress and quality of life more generally.

The document also puts forward three important demands:

  1. Facilitate access to a diversity of healthcare professionals
    2. Implement advantageous tax measures
    3. Create healthy work and living environments

For the FQM, massage therapy is much more than a wellness treatment: it’s a lever for people’s health that is all too often underestimated, despite its scientifically proven benefits.
