{"id":4590,"date":"2017-07-28T10:55:33","date_gmt":"2017-07-28T14:55:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fqm.qc.ca\/la-fqm\/engagement-social-de-fqm\/"},"modified":"2025-11-27T14:29:48","modified_gmt":"2025-11-27T19:29:48","slug":"social-commitment-of-the-fqm","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.fqm.qc.ca\/en\/fqm\/social-commitment-of-the-fqm\/","title":{"rendered":"Social commitment of the FQM"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.fqm.qc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Sans-titre-685-x-309-px-1.svg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-81494 aligncenter\" role=\"img\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fqm.qc.ca\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/Sans-titre-685-x-309-px-1.svg\" alt=\"\" width=\"577\" height=\"260\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>The<strong> FQM: dedicated to our collective well-being<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/fondationfm.ca\/\"><strong>La Fondation de la massoth\u00e9rapie<\/strong><\/a>, an initiative of the F\u00e9d\u00e9ration qu\u00e9b\u00e9coise des massoth\u00e9rapeutes agr\u00e9\u00e9s, has for its mandate to provide support to people living with <strong>cancer<\/strong>, <strong>chronic pain<\/strong>, <strong>mental health issues,<\/strong> <strong>seniors benefitting from social geriatrics services<\/strong>, to the aging population in <strong>CHSLD<\/strong>, as well as their<strong> caregivers<\/strong> by providing complimentary massage therapy services\u2014adapted to their health condition\u2014and provided by certified massage therapists.<\/p>\n<p>As of 2010 until now, the FQM involves its personnel and its network of certified massage therapists in the service of the Fondation, in addition to absorbing the entirety of administrative fees. This invaluable support allows the Fondation the <strong>possibility of offering adapted massage therapy services for free<\/strong>.\u00a0 Therefore, since its conception, <strong>more than 40 000 massages<\/strong> have been offered across the province.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In order to achieve its mission, the Fondation relies on contributions from major donors who have contributed significantly to the Fondation de la massoth\u00e9rapie\u2019s development and helped maintain its services.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-tadv-p=\"keep\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-tadv-p=\"keep\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The Fondation in their words<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-tadv-p=\"keep\">\u201cThank you for calling attention to this disease and for all that you do!\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-tadv-p=\"keep\">\u201cMassage therapy gave me the sense of calm and the quality of sleep I needed to get through my radiotherapy treatment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\" data-tadv-p=\"keep\">\u201cThanks to massage therapy, I\u2019m able to recover more quickly and the pain is less intense. It\u2019s incredibly beneficial, and the massage therapist is attentive and explains each maneuver so that I feel reassured.
